Aylesbury is the county town of Buckinghamshire and part of the Milton Keynes and South Midlands sub-region. This region was identified as a growth area in the South East Plan.

Transport

Aylesbury is situated approximately 40 miles north of London and close to both the M40 and M41. Locally there are good links to Milton Keynes, Oxford and Bicester.

Employment

Originally a small market town, Aylesbury now boasts one of the highest employment rates in the country with 85.2% of the population in employment. The town is host to a large amount of knowledge based industries as well as the famous Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

Population

Aylesbury has a population of approximately 56,000.

Project

Design for Manufacture – Former TA Centre

English Partnerships is working with William Verry to deliver a distinctive S shaped linear development built as part of the agency’s Design for Manufacture programme. 94 homes ranging from flats to four bedroom properties will be built on the former TA Centre.

The development is due to begin on site this September with first units completed by December 2009.
